My Strange World

The capital of Thailand, Bangkok is a very special place for me! I went there for my 30th birthday in 2012, then 2013 and with my parents in 2014! Surely, I missed Bangkok so much.I just wish I can visit Bangkok again!

Back in 2012. Supposedly a group trip of 4, became a pair trip of 2 at the very last minute! Just a week and a few days before the trip, 2 of us cancelled the trip. Leaving me and Firdaus to decide whether to go or not to go. We shorten the trip from 4 days to 3 days (24-26 Nov 2012). We celebrated my 30th birthday in Bangkok on a Tuk Tuk!

At the very last minute, I managed to found a hostel, Saphaipae Hostel! A very well known hostel in Bangkok! Me and Firdaus stayed there for 2 nights! There are TV room and a laundry room! I remember watching Spider-Man movie in Thai language! Hehehe

We asked the direction to Chatuchak Weekend Market at the concierge and luckily, we found the famous market!

2013
We went back to Bangkok for a little shopping for Firdaus' mini online business. We stayed at the same hostel, but this time we paid for the deluxe double bed.

2014
I went to Bangkok for the 3rd time, and this time with my parents. We also stayed at the same hostel, just that we booked the double bed for my parents, and I took the mixed dorm. Most of my activities was at my parents' room.

Brought my parents to the Chatuchak Weekend Market, then the market next to it Or Tor Kor Market. We went to Madame Tussauds Bangkok and also the shopping complexes.

At Chatuchak Weekend Market, I never failed to go to Mix Me Grass Jelly Drink

My main transportation are the public transport such as the BTS, the MRT, the taxis, the buses and the Airport Rail Link.

Today is the last day for our trip in Tokyo. Went out to bring our parents to get the souvenir t-shirts for themselves. End up, they did not buy one. Look for boxes while Pejal go and buy some Gindaco Takoyakis! Funny thing is, the outlet is just next to the normal exit we went to access the Ikebukuro station. While waiting for Pejal, mak managed to take some pictures with some beautiful orchids, her favorite flower! Luckily the apartment owner allowed us to checked out at 1pm because the normal check out time is 11am!

Stop at Nippori Station from Ikebukuro Station. Went to the Nippori Textile Town, and mak managed to buy some "kain" for her baju Raya.

We reached Narita Airport at around 4pm. Just spent some time walking around the airport. Duty free shops, restaurants and more shops. There are 2 halal restaurant at the 4th floor, Terminal 2. One with Malaysia certificate and the other one is from Singapore.

Before heading to Shibuya, for a lunch appointment with Kak Maryati, me and my parent went to Shinjuku Station (¥160 around MYR5.90) to go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building. Both of the towers have an observation deck, and they are free! Instead of going to Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Tower, where you need to pay to go the observations deck.

At the Shinjuku Station, bapak bought a pair of shoes at a shop for quite a discounted price, since that day was the last day of the Golden Week holidays in Tokyo. Me myself, bought a running shoes! Hehe

We went up to the Tower 1.

Next, from Shinjuku Station to Shibuya Station (¥160 around MYR5.90) before we took the bus to Kak Maryati's house for lunch. Originally, supposed to be at 12noon, but we reached at around 12.30pm!

From Shibuya Station, we have to take a bus to her place. Almost 10 stops if I was not wrong. I know Kak Maryati when I went to Geneva a few years back. She and her family did stay in Malaysia for almost a year in between this meeting, but never has a chance to see her. Now, when they moved to Tokyo, we meet again! Hahaha

During our short conversation, I was so impressed with the system that with send message via the tv and smartphone, whenever there is an earthquake in Tokyo, maybe the whole Japan have the same system. Good to have Malaysian food abroad! Since we only eat instant noodle and onigiri in Tokyo! Hehehe

Me and my parents head back to the apartment. After we reached the apartment, me and my father went for a walk around Ikebukuro. Then my brother met us at the Sunshine City while me and my father was at the Starbucks.

After we went back to the apartment (again), me and brother went out again to walk around Ikebukuro.
